New chemicals are constantly being developed and used. A minority of these new substances can pose a danger to humans and the environment – they are called environmental toxins.
Research on these substances is, and has always been, important at NILU. Our researchers can search for environmental toxins in a wide variety of samples, including air, sludge, sediments, water and organisms. We use new instrumentation and increasingly efficient methods, both in the laboratories at Kjeller and in our laboratory in the Framsenteret in Tromsø.
