NILU’s efforts to achieve gender equality and counter discrimination are firmly grounded in the institute’s overall strategy and business plan, its vision and values.
After discussion with union representatives, NILU has formulated overarching policies on personnel, salaries, and seniors, as well as guidelines for whistleblowing. All these management tools touch on important aspects of NILU’s efforts towards equality and against discrimination. The Heads of NILU’s Departments are responsible for realisation of these guidelines, in collaboration with the unions.
In 2021, a working group was appointed, comprised of representatives for employees’ unions and the administration. The group has revised the guidelines and prepared a plan of action for 2022.
