From 1 January 2023, Aasmund Fahre Vik is Deputy CEO and CTO at NILU
Aasmund handed over his position as Research Director at NILU’s Department of Environmental Chemistry to Pernilla Bohlin-Nizzetto and took over the position as CEO after Ole-Ander Braathen, who retired before Christmas.
Aasmund earned his doctorate in inorganic chemistry at NTNU in 2000. After one year as Postdoc in Montpellier, France, he joined NILU and ATMOS in 2002. There he worked with earth observation, data management, various EU projects and was involved in EEA’s topic centers. In 2013, he was hired as research director for Department of Environmental Chemistry and has been there since.
As NILU changes, the job content of the CEO has also changed. Aasmund will in addition be responsible for NILU’s joint research agenda, innovation, and quality assurance. His title will therefore be Deputy CEO and CTO, Chief Technology Officer.
